Exciting Developments at Cabrillo EDC!
We at Cabrillo EDC are thrilled about the year ahead, and for good reason! Our team has been diligently pursuing funding for new housing projects during the first two months of 2024. While this early work is critical, Real Estate Development Director Derrick Wada says the true excitement lies in what follows.
While the recent rains have temporarily slowed construction at Dolores Huerta Gardens (DHG), rest assured that we have a plan to make up for lost time as soon as the rainy season ends. We will keep you updated on progress, and we're still on track to open the doors of this 58-unit development serving veterans and farmworkers in 2025. We will begin accepting applications for these units 90 days before completion.
Looking ahead to future projects, construction for the Village Senior Apartments in Buellton is expected to start in late spring/early summer 2024. These 50 units, dedicated to serving low-income seniors, should open by fall 2025.
We're also excited about potential developments in Ventura County, including Cabrillo Vistas on Bryant Street near Ojai. Construction for these 50 units aimed at supporting farmworkers is planned to begin in fall 2024.
It’s an exciting time for Cabrillo EDC, and we're committed to keeping you informed. We take immense pride in serving our community for over 40 years and providing much-needed housing for those most in need. We build more than just houses; we build homes and communities.
