As 2023 comes to a close, we reflect on our many blessings, the most important of which is your support throughout the year.  Your generosity on Giving Tuesday will provide little libraries at two of our properties! We are looking forward to updating you with pictures and stories of the inspiration provided through these amazing little libraries.

Ojai City Council Approves Cabrillo Vistas

We are ending the year on a high note! Thanks to the support from the community of Ojai, the Ojai City Council unanimously approved our Cabrillo Vistas development on Bryant Street.  Cabrillo Vistas will be a 50 unit, 100% affordable housing development providing housing for farmworker families and  for low-income families earning less than 60% of the area median income.  Stay tuned for more updates to come in 2024!

Cabrillo EDC Community Calendar

CEDC is producing a special community calendar for the upcoming year, featuring delightful artwork by children living in CEDC properties. This calendar is more than just a collection of dates; it's a celebration of creativity and a showcase of the young talent in our communities. Welcome to our Newest Team Members!

Derrick Wada, Director of Real Estate Development: Derrick joined the team in October 2023 and brings over a decade of experience to CEDC. To read more about Derrick, click here. 

Bronson Viscarra, Real Estate Project Manager II: Bronson joined our team earlier this year.  He brings his passion for creating positive social and economic impacts through affordable housing development. He is looking forward to relocating to Ventura County this month.

Priscilla Gonzalez, Real Estate Project Manager I: Pricilla joined the team this month and brings her expertise in steering the evaluation, funding, and coordination of affordable housing projects to CEDC. She recently completed the LISC California Housing Development Training Institute (HDTI) and the UCLA Levine Affordable Housing Development Program (LAHDP).

Brenda Mares, Human Resource Manager: Brenda joined the team in October 2023.  She has over a decade of experience in the human resource field and has earned SHRM-CP, PHR, FPC certifications. Brenda has fond memories as a child of visiting family members that lived in Cabrillo Village!

Ama Cruz, Grants Manager: Ama also joined the team this month, serving as a fund development resource and administrative manager of CEDC's grants.. Ama earned her Masters degree in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University.
