Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation is thrilled to welcome two new Board Members – Stacy Swanson and Louie Valenzuela to the CEDC Board of Directors.
We are excited to have Stacy as a Board Member and she is eager to serve. Stacy says “I am honored to join the Board of Directors serving Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation. As a resident of Ventura County for over 30 years and having worked alongside CEDC in the non-profit community for much of that time, I have witnessed first-hand the challenges of creating and sustaining affordable housing in our community. I look forward to providing support, insights, and perspectives that will further CEDC’s mission to provide comprehensive housing services and facilitate self-sufficiency for individuals and families who are most lacking in opportunity.”
Stacy Swanson, CFRE, is the Chief Development Officer for Interface Children & Family Services and brings a wealth of experience in fundraising, nonprofit management and strategic planning to CEDC’s Board. As a visionary leader, Stacy is responsible for philanthropic and resource development, and she oversees all marketing activities to drive support for Interface’s six core program areas. Prior to joining Interface, Stacy was Senior Director of Development for the Graduate Schools at California Lutheran University from 2013-2019 and served as Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County from 2006-2012.
As a highly respected fundraising professional, Stacy was recognized as Professional Fundraiser of the Year by the Ventura/Santa Barbara Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2021. In addition to serving on CEDC’s board of directors, Stacy is also a member of the board of directors for Runners for Public Lands based in Ventura, California. Her past board experience includes the Housing Trust Fund of Ventura County and the Center for Nonprofit Leadership.
Stacy has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cal Lutheran University and two master’s degrees: a Master of Arts in Philanthropy from Indiana University and a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary. She has been married to Krister Swanson (a teacher at Thousand Oaks High School) for over 32 years, and has three adult sons.
Welcome to the Board, Stacy!
