Position Description

Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) develops and manages service enriched, inclusive residential communities, ensuring access to affordable, secure, quality housing that creates the foundation for our residents to grow and thrive.

CEDC’s philosophy is that excellent property management is an essential part of its overall construction of affordable housing activities. CEDC provides a superior living environment for its residents. CEDC implements a team management approach to its work with particular coordination between its activities within its Property Management, Real Estate Development and Resident and Community Services Departments.
THE POSITION
CEDC seeks experienced, highly motivated, self-starters to assume the Marketing and Communications Coordinator position in Ventura County, CA. This position will work under the direction of the Director of Business Development and Administration. The Director of Business Development and Administration oversees fundraising, grants, marketing and communications and strategic planning activities, along with special projects for CEDC. This is an on-site position.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Working closely with the Management Team, develop and implement marketing and communication strategies to promote Cabrillo EDC mission, vision and involvement in housing production and advocacy for affordable housing.
• Support fundraising and advocacy efforts through storytelling and use of various media.
• Create engaging and impactful content for various marketing channels, including social media, email, website, and print materials.
• Prepare and coordinate distribution of donation campaign and marketing communication pieces, including annual reports, appeal letters and donor impact updates.
• Oversee and coordinate the creation of video campaigns.
• Administer the donor database (Bloomerang, and Fundraise Up), to capture donor contact information, track gifts and engagement, generate reports, and continually update and maintain database records.
• Oversee and coordinate property tours, groundbreaking, and fundraising events.
• Collaborate with departments and internal and external teams to ensure consistency in messaging and branding for communication and fundraising efforts.
• Conduct market research and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for growth, advocacy and engagement.
• Manage and maintain Cabrillo EDC website and social media accounts, monitoring and responding to comments and inquiries, and ensuring website content is current.
• Plan and execute events and campaigns to raise awareness and promote Cabrillo EDC services and initiatives.
• Monitor and track marketing and communication efforts, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
• Maintain relationships with media outlets and coordinate press releases and media coverage.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in affordable housing development, advocacy, public policy and regulatory activities.
• Support and assist with other marketing and communication initiatives as needed.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in communication, Business, Marketing or related field. Four to five years of related experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate clearly with various departments including as well as vendors, contractors and freelancers.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for representing organizations in public, during media events and conferences and while participating in community events.
• Project management experience and time-management skills for juggling numerous time-sensitive projects simultaneously. Being familiar with project management software is also an asset.
• Good computer skills for generating reports, viewing marketing metrics, extracting data and sharing this information with other team members in project updates.
• Working knowledge of computer applications, programs and features, such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Direct experience using WordPress to update and maintain website content.
• Direct experience and proficiency using Donor Management/CRM software.
• Experience in web page development and/or graphic design is a plus.
• Having the ability to provide information on previous campaigns, projects and timelines overseen and implemented in order to demonstrate overall capabilities.
• Experience working with high-level donors and volunteers is a plus.

A valid California driver’s License and proof of automobile liability insurance.
